U2 Makes Big Charitable Donation for Music Education

U2 has more money than they need and they know it.  Fortunately, they can also be quite generous with their lucre.

The band has donated €5 million (about $6.6 million CAD) to a charity called Music Generation, which helps fund music education across Ireland.  The money came from profits from three big concerts staged in Ireland in 2009.

The Edge made an appearance yesterday as part of the government’s committment to co-fund Music Generation through 2014.
