U2 releases a new video and announces first album in nine years

We’ve known U2 was coming back for some time–years, actually–dating back to hints about a new album that began circulating before their residency at The Sphere. Now things are firming up.

Yesterday (July 8), the band released a new single/video entitled “Street of Dreams,” promising that this is the first taste of their first full proper album of new material in nine years. And the album will be called…well, we don’t know yet. Nor do we have a release date. But it should be before the end of the year.

Me? September. I’ll even go as far as predicting it will be Friday, September 25. Why? Because 50 years ago on September 26, U2 had their first rehearsal at Larry Mullen Jr’s house. Kalashi/Polymarket that.

Meanwhile, here’s the single. The video was shot earlier this year in Mexico City.
