U2 sent this message of support to Ukraine on the third anniversary of the Russian invasion

As someone of 100% Ukrainian heritage–and with relatives still in the old country–I’m deeply invested emotionally and financially in supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

Let’s be clear: Russia started this. Donald Trump is on Putin’s side in this conflict. The war will stop the second Russia puts down its weapons. But if Ukraine were to stop fighting, Ukraine would cease to exist.

U2 has been staunchly on the side of Ukraine from the beginning. Earlier this week, on the third anniversary of the unprovoked Russian invasion, U2 shared a message with Ukraine. Bono read a poem entitled “My Friendly Epistle” by Taras Shevchenko, a famous Ukrainian poet. Please listen.
