Uncharted: Crime and Mayhem in the Music Industry, episode 46: The wild life and crazy times of Ozzy Osbourne

In February 1984, Ozzy Osbourne was on his “Bark at the Moon” tour. With him was Mötley Crüe, a group he handpicked for this road trip. This being the ’80s, there weren’t a lot of rules—and there was certainly a shortage of adults in the room. To alleviate the boredom between shows, the goal had become who could out-party and out-gross the other.

Things reached a peak at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dallas on February 16. Ozzy was, as usual, extremely wasted as he, his band, and Mötley Crüe killed some time at the hotel pool.

Ozzy noticed a trail of ants heading toward a popsicle stick on the pool deck. He got down on his hands and knees and snorted that line of ants.

Nikki Sixx didn’t want to be outdone, so he unzipped and urinated on the deck, promising to—well, you might be able to imagine. But before he could do anything, Ozzy jumped in the way and cleaned everything up with his tongue.

On the way back to his room, Ozzy defecated in the elevator. Then, after Ozzy was dragged to his room, he continued to relieve himself in gross and disgusting ways—and then he painted the walls with–well, yes… that.

That was enough for everyone in Mötley Crüe. “You win, Ozzy,” they said. “You win.”

This incident—documented and attested to by many witnesses—is just one example of the crazy life of Ozzy Osbourne, a man who was so wild for so long that we just assumed he was immortal.
