Update on Fundraising Campaign for Spirit of the West’s John Mann
As you may have heard, Spirit of the West frontman John Mann is suffering from early-onset Alzheimer’s. With all convention treatment options exhausted, he and his wife are hoping that stem cell therapy might help. Unfortunately for John, this sort of treatment is deemed experimental and isn’t covered under any Canadian health plan, which is why they went the crowfunding route. A course of therapy costs at least $50,000, something that’s well out of reach for most people.
The good news is that family, friends and fans have opened their wallets. Over 11 days, 613 people people raised (at last count) $52,659 USD. John and his wife can start making plans for the next step in John’s health care.
