Vance Joy Wins an International Songwriting Award with a Perfect Score

In a feat reminiscent of Nadia Comaneci’s perfect 10s in gymnastics at the Montreal Olympics, Vance Joy has picked up the Grand Prize in the 2014 International Songwriting Competition. For the first time in the 14 years of the competition, the winner received a perfect score from each judge. He gets $25,000 in cash and $45,000 in merch and services.

Oh, and the song was “Riptide,” of course.
