Video from Rush’s 1976 2112 Tour has been re-released in 4K. Watch.

Somewhere out there is a guy named Jim Kelly who has a trove of Super 8mm film shot at rock shows back in the day. it’s sure cool. It’s video from Rush’s 2112 Tour–and it’s now been upcaled to 4K.

The source material is from a show at the Civic Auditorium in Oshawa on June 18, 1976, three days after the three-night stand at Massey Hall where they recorded what would become the All the World’s a Stage album,

It’s a bit jumpy because in those days, 8mm film came in a canister capable of holding just three minutes. Still…

  • Jim Kelly passed away in Jan 2022. He left all his films to me. I’m Rob Gronfors We are slowly getting them remastered to 4k and sourcing live audio from those shows and releasing them on our YouTube channel, speedysfims.
