Voices that Care: Raising Funds for Dementia Support
On Friday May 5 at Toronto’s Glenn Gould studio a dazzling roster of Canadian musical, literary and stage talent presents Voices that Care, an event that raises funds for a dementia support program. Those scheduled in the lineup include iconic folk singer/songwriter Murray McLauchlan, best-selling author Margaret Atwood, East Coast fiddle sensation Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, Soulpepper Theatre Company founder, actor/director Albert Schultz, acclaimed Canadian tenor Ben Heppner, dancer Travis Knights and blues singer/guitarist Matt Andersen.
Proceeds from Voices that Care will go towards Room 217’s dementia singing program. Room 217 greatly enriches the lives of Canadians living with dementia as well as provides education to caregivers who wish to integrate music into their care practice.
