Volvo Goes Whole-Hog with Their Connected Car Plans

The lease on my car runs out next May, so I’m already shopping for a new vehicle. And although I’m a sucker for performance sports coupes, I’m also a gadget nerd.  I’d be lying if I said that I won’t be swayed by the power of a given vehicle’s infotainment system.

To help me with my decision, I’m trying out as many cars as a I can whenever I need to drive something else. For example, I’m currently on a speaking trip in the interior of BC, which required me to fly to Calgary, then Kamloops and then rent a car for a two-hour drive.  My choices were a Camaro convertible (too big and clunky), a Ford Fiesta (too small) and an Audi A3.  I took the Audi just because I wanted to see what was in the dashboard–and I gotta say it’s pretty awesome.

Not many places offer Volvos for rent, but I’ll be on the lookout for anything in their in lineup once their “2015.5” vehicles are out.  Every single Volvo will be of the connect car variety featuring their Sensus Connect system.  Damn, it looks interesting!
