Want to Buy Your Own Indie Record Label? One’s for Sale on Craigslist

Fancy yourself becoming the next Ahmet Ertegen or David Geffen? Want to be a music label mogul but aren’t keen on starting things from scratch? Then you’re in luck. Canadian indie record label Handshake Inc. is up for sale on Craigslist with an asking price of just $5,000 CAD.

David Hall, the founder of the label, is looking to move on to making more videos and movies and consequently needs to divest himself of the Toronto-based”extreme and underground metal/noise” label.

So what do you get for your $5K?

  • North American and international distribution
  • Digital royalties
  • Press contacts
  • Existing inventory(vinyl, DVDs, etc.)
  • 2000 Twiter followers
  • 2000 Facebook likes.

Who would want to acquire such a business?  Hall says it’s “perfect for: hobbyists, pros, and any goal-oriented people who still maintain a sense of hope and wonder about the music industry.”
