Want to check the speed of your Internet connection? This one raises money for charity with every test.

It’s always a good idea to know what connection speeds you’re dealing with, especially if a fast Internet is mission critical to whatever you’re doing. I, for example, often need to create a lot of broadcast material from a laptop in a hotel room. One of the first things I do is check the speed of the connection in my room so I know what I can and cannot do.

There are plenty of online tests to choose from, but I just heard about CompariTech. For every test conducted, it donates one cent to charity. Even though that applies to only one test per person a year, think about the millions of speed tests conducted every day.
