Want to Get Ahead? Artists to Watch in 2014

As the “best of 2013” lists start to pile up, I’m actually more interested in what’s coming next.  Which artists will we be talking about in 2014?

First, there’s the BBC’s Sounds of 2014 list.  Take note of the following:

Banks

Chance The Rapper

Ella Eyre

George Ezra

FKA Twigs

Chloe Howl

Jungle

Kelela

MNEK

Nick Mulvey

Royal Blood

Sampha

Say Lou Lou

Luke Sital-Singh

Sam Smith

Then there’s Shazam, the music tagging app.  Based on their analysis of what people are looking to identify, they think that these artists have a good shot in 2014.

Action Bronson

August Alsina

Banks

Jhené Aiko

Kid Ink

Lucy Hale

Martin Garrix

Rich Homie Quan

Sam Smith (The only overlap with the BBC’s list.  Hmm)

Vance Joy

Do you have any predictions?

KC Roberts and the Live Revolution are a modern day Jamiroquai, whose live show is beyond amazing. These guys are going to take off for sure in 2014.
