Watch Chris Cornell’s New Music Video. His Last Video Performance is for World Refugee Day.

The last piece of new music Chris released before his death was “The Promise,” was born after Chris and his wife Vicky toured through some refugee camps in Greece. They were moved by what they say that they decided that the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation would get involved, working with child refugees and their attendant challenges including education, health and human trafficking.

Before Chris died, he filmed this video in Brooklyn with the idea of having it released on World Refugee Day–which is today (June 20).

The video was directed by Grammy Award-winning director Meiert Avis, who worked with Chris during his Audioslave days as well as with U2. Also working on the video was Stefan Smith, a veteran of work with Madonna and Sting.

“The Promise” is Cornell’s last music video performance.
