Watch Freddy Krueger Set to a Dance Track

Freddy Krueger and A Nightmare on Elm Street brought something new and strange to the horror genre in 1984. The disfigured boogeyman, portrayed by Robert Englund, has become an iconic figure in horror. Even people who haven’t seen any of the franchise’s films instantly recognize the red and green striped sweater, brown fedora, and metal-clawed glove. To give the nightmare serial killer a danceable soundtrack might seem like a strange juxtaposition.

A filmmaker named Aljojo Mojo from Melbourne, Australia has done just that, however. From AV Club: “The video is set to the strains of a track called “Andromeda” by an Orange County, California duo called Dance With The Dead“. The song isn’t an upbeat and cheery dance track, though, it’s quite dark and eerie.

The video serves as a tribute and greatest hits reel to the iconic character. It’s five minutes of Freddy in all his glory, terrorizing teenagers.
