Watch: The First Trailer for Elvis and Nixon

Long, long before Sean Penn went rogue looking for El Chapo, Elvis Presley forged a law enforcement relationship with the White House. A new film called Elvis & Nixon remembers those days.  From VVN:

On December 21, 1970, Elvis Presley was escorted into the oval office of the White House to meet then-president Richard Nixon.

The meeting was a quickly arranged affair after Elvis had written a letter to the president telling him that he “can and will be of any service that I can to help the country out” and requesting a meeting.

The letter was dropped off at the White House and into the hands of a staffer who was a big Presley fan, possibly the biggest factor in making the meeting happen. Elvis was soon brought to the mansion and brought into the Oval Office where the two met.

Now a film has been built on what we’ve learned about that meeting.
