Watch Weird Fan-Made Video for the New NIN Single, “Everything”

If you’ve heard “Everything,” the first official single from the upcoming Nine Inch Nails album, Hesitation Marks, you may have noticed that it sounds a bit…odd.

It’s not only written in a major key, but it’s happy.  Almost joyous.  It’s about as far away in tone as Trent has ever gone from songs like “Head Like a Hole,” “Wish” and “Closer.”  One commenter note that Trent seems to have gone on an upward spiral.

Fans have reacted.  Not necessarily in a negative way.  Just…different. See?  And the longer you watch, the weirder it gets with cute puppies, Pikachu and Trent riding a unicorn through a rainbow-washed landscape. No, really.

Remember when Trent made fun of Chris Cornell for Scream? What goes around, comes around. Everything is pure fluff.

I think the song is great.

    Video needs more Carlton though.
