We have a new World Air Guitar Champion and it is…

Every summer for the last 24 years, pretend guitar players and the people who love them have descended upon Oulu, Finland, to determine the best air guitarist in the world.

Sadly, Canada’s entry, Ichabod Fame of Toronto, did not win. This year’s championship is America’s Rob Messel. Performing under the name The Marquis, this was Messel’s third attempt at glory.

Finishing second was Alexander “Jinja Assassin” Roberts of Australia while the third-place finisher was Frederic “French Kiss” Reau of France.

Last year’s champion, Namami “Seven Seas” Nagura, could only manage fourth.

Here’s The Marquis’ winning moves.
