We needed a guide to music sites on the internet. Now we have one.

The internet is a fantastic place to research music. The problem, though, is that there have been few proper guides that list sites worth visiting. Yes, there’s AllTop’s music page, but it’s fairly limited and lists mostly the usual suspects.

Carl Weinschenk was frustrated by having to search around for good music sites, so he set about working on an ebook that lists music sites from around the world. “The idea,” he says, “is to give music loves a map that makes it easier for them to explore beyond YouTube.”

This, obviously, is a big project, but it’s underway. You can check out Daily Music Break’s library of music sources here. And if you know of a site that need to be included, drop Carl a note.
