We now know why Ace Frehley of KISS died

When some heard that Ace Frehley had taken a tumble in his studio on September 25, they suspected the worst. When a 74-year-old falls hard enough for an upcoming tour to be canceled, it had to more than just some bruises and broken bones.

It’s now known that Ace hit his head in the fall–and he hit it hard. He was immediately taken to the hospital where he was soon placed on a ventilator. By October 16, he was dead.

The Morris County (New Jersey) Medical Examiner determined that he suffered severe blunt trauma injuries. The fall resulted in a fracture to the back of his skull (sounds like he fell over backwards), followed by a stroke and a subdural hematoma. There was zero hope of recovery, so the family made the awful decision to discontinue life support.

Ace’s final performance was at the Uptown Fair in Providence RI.
