Seven months down, five months to go. Here’s where things stand with the Canadian recorded music industry as we head into August.

Year-over-year comparisons:

  • Total album sales, -10.4%
  • CD sales, -4.6%
  • Digital albums, -19.5%
  • Digital tracks, -18.3%
  • Vinyl LPs, -2.5%
  • On-demand audio streams, +13.5%

Now here are last week’s figures compared to the week before:

  • Total album sales, +3.8%
  • CD sales, +9.4%
  • Digital albums, -4.7%
  • Digital tracks, -0.4%
  • Vinyl LPs, +8.9%
  • On-demand audio streams, -0.4% (2.178 billion streams in the country last week).
