Weekly Canadian music sales and streaming stats: 03 April 2023

Time once again to follow the ups and downs of the Canadian recorded music industry. Where are we at this week? As usual, let’s begin with a look at this week’s numbers compared to a year ago.

  • Total album sales, -6.4%
  • CD sales, -9.7%
  • Digital albums, -13.5%
  • Digital tracks, -8.2%
  • Vinyl LPs, +14.8%
  • On-demand audio streams, +16.1%

Now we’ll compare last week to the week before.

  • Total album sales, +20.4%
  • CD sales, +20.1%
  • Digital albums, +16.0%
  • Digital tracks, –1.3%
  • Vinyl LPs, +28.3%
  • On-demand audio streams, +1.4% (2.443 billion streams in the country last week)
