The first third of 2023 is already in the books. This is where things stand with the Canadian recorded music industry, comparing last week with the same week in 2022.

  • CD sales, -8.8%
  • Digital albums, -13.0%
  • Digital tracks, -10.1%
  • Vinyl LPs, +16.2%
  • On-demand audio streams, +15.9%

This compares last week to the week before.

  • Total album sales, -15.2%
  • CD sales, -14.5%
  • Digital albums, -12.7%
  • Digital tracks, -5.8%
  • Vinyl LPs, -19.9%
  • On-demand audio streams, +3.2% (2.563 billion streams in the country last week, close to an all-time record)
