The first full month of 2023 is in the books for the Canadian recorded music industry. Here’s how things look one-twelfth the way through the year, starting with comparing last week to the same week in 2022.

  • CDs, -6.9%
  • Digital albums, -19,6%
  • Digital tracks, -7.3%
  • Vinyl LPs, +8.2%
  • On-demand audio streams, +18.2%

  • Total album sales, +1.9%
  • CDs, +5.4%
  • Digital albums, -0.1%
  • Digital tracks, -3.8%
  • Vinyl LPs, -0.9%
  • On-demand audio streams, +0.3% (2.372 billion streams in Canada last week)
