Every Monday, Luminate has some weekly numbers for the Canadian recorded music industry. Here’s how things are going so far this year compared to the same period in 2022.

  • Total album sales, -6.4%
  • CD sales, -7.0%
  • Digital albums, -15.9%
  • Digital tracks, -7.5%
  • Vinyl LPs, +13.9%
  • On-demand audio streams, +16.6%

These numbers compare last week to the week before.

  • Total album sales, +1.7%
  • CD sales, +3.0%
  • Digital albums, -0.7%
  • Digital tracks, +2.0%
  • Vinyl LPs, +2.9%
  • On-demand audio streams, +2.4% (2.380 billion streams in the country last week).
