Weekly Canadian music sales and streaming stats: 07 August 2023

It might be a holiday Monday here in Canada, but we still need the weekly music sales and streaming stats from Luminate. The first set of numbers compares last week to the same week in 2023.

  • Total album sales, -2.9%
  • CD sales, -8.3%
  • Digital album sales, -12.6%
  • Digital tracks, -11.0%
  • Vinyl LPs, +23.8%
  • On-demand audio streams, +18.4%

Moving to a comparison of last week to the week before.

  • Total album sales, -3.5%
  • CD sales, -2.7%
  • Digital album sales, -0.3%
  • Digital tracks, -2.1%
  • Vinyl LPs, -9.6%
  • On-demand audio streams, +0.2% (2.809 billion streams in the country last week. That may be an all-time high)
