Here’s where Luminate says things stand with the Canadian recorded music industry as of today starting with a comparison of last week to the same week in 2022.

  • Total album sales, -4.7%
  • CD sales, -8.0%
  • Digital albums, -13.1%
  • Digital tracks, -10.9%
  • Vinyl LPs, +19.3%
  • On-demand audio streams, +15.7%

Now let’s look at last week compared to the week before:

  • Total album sales, +12.5%
  • CD sales, +17.6%
  • Digital albums, -1.0%
  • Digital tracks, -0.5%
  • Vinyl LPs, 24.6%
  • On-demand audio streams, -0.4% (2.496 billion streams in the country last week)
