Weekly Canadian music sales and streaming stats: 11 April 2022

I may be in Southeast Asia for the next bit, but I have a responsibility to post the usual weekly sales and streaming stats from Luminate. Let’s begin with the year-over-year numbers.

  • Total album sales, -8.1%
  • CD sales, +0.2%
  • Digital albums, -19.9%
  • Digital tracks, -20.2%
  • Vinyl LPs, -2.9%
  • On-demand audio streamings, +12,3%

And now, the week-over-week comparisons:

  • Total albums sales, +4.7%
  • CD sales -2.4%
  • Digital albums, +12.9%
  • Digital tracks, -0.2%
  • Vinyl LPs, +4.6%
  • On-demand audio streams, +1.7% (2.148 billion streams in the country last week; a new record)
