Weekly Canadian music sales and streaming stats: 18 July 2022

We’re at the point of the year when everything that needed to be out for summer is out. All that’s left to see if this year’s releases boost sales for the rest of the quarter. Here are this week’s Canadian sales and streaming stats courtesy of Luminate.

Year-over-year numbers.

  • Total album sales, -10.5%
  • CD sales, -4.3%
  • Digital albums, -20.1%
  • Digital tracks, -19.0%
  • Vinyl LPs, -1.5%
  • On-demand audio streams, +13.4%

Week-over-week numbers

  • Total album sales, +5.1%
  • CD sales, +14.0%
  • Digital albums, -3.9%
  • Digital tracks, -2.7%
  • Vinyl LPs, +4.8%
  • On-demand audio streams, +1.2% (2.347 billion streams in the country last week)
