Where are things at with the Canadian recorded music industry this week? Let’s take a look beginning by comparing last week to the week before:

  • CD sales, -10.6%
  • Digital albums sales, -12.0%
  • Digital tracks, -11.2%
  • Vinyl LP sales, +22.9%
  • On-demand audio streams, +15.5%

Here’s a comparison of last week to the same week in 2023.

  • Total album sales, +4.0%
  • CD sales, +0.8%
  • Digital albums sales, -3.1%
  • Digital tracks, -4.6%
  • Vinyl LP sales, +21.6%
  • On-demand audio streams, +2.4% (2.568 billion streams in the country last week. That’s close to an all-time record)
