The weekly report from MRC on Canadian sales and streaming data came in last night, but I never got around to posting it because I was so engrossed in Ken Burns’ PBS documentary on Muhammed Ali. And then I started watching election coverage. But better late than never, right?
Here are your year-after-year numbers.
- Total album sales, -10.5%
- CD sales, -3.7%
- Digital albums, -27.5%
- Digital tracks, -26.6%
- Vinyl LPs, +48.2%
- On-demand audio streams, +12.4%.
Now comparing last week to the week before:
- Total album sales, -7.3%
- CD sales, -3.6%
- Digital albums, -15.5%
- Digital tracks, -3.1%
- Vinyl LPs, +1.6%
- On-demand audio streams, +1.0% (1.940 billion streams in the country last week)
