While the unavoidable feeling that summer is winding down is upon us, the record music industry is going through a summer lull. Luminate has these stats for Canadian music sales and stream.

Last week compared to the week before:

  • Total album sales, -5.4%
  • CD sales, -11/0%
  • Digital albums, -12.4%
  • Digital tracks, -10.9%
  • Vinyl LPs, +21.3%
  • On-demand audio streams, +15.6%

How were things compared to the same week last summer?

  • Total album sales, -2.1%
  • CD sales, +1.6%
  • Digital albums, -7.3%
  • Digital tracks, -0.3%
  • Vinyl LPs, +4.5%
  • On-demand audio streams, +1.5% (2.495 billion streams in the country last week)
