As summer winds down, the Canadian recorded music industry is starting to get a clearer picture of how things have gone this season. Here are the latest figures courtesy Luminate.

Year-over-year statistics:

  • Total album sales, -10.0%
  • CD sales, -4.6%
  • Digital albums, -18.6%
  • Digital tracks, -17,9%
  • Vinyl LPs, -2.1%
  • On-demand audio streams, +13.7%

Now comparing last week to the week before:

  • Total album sales, +4.8%
  • CD sales, +7.6%
  • Digital albums, +3.2%
  • Digital tracks, -1.0%
  • Vinyl LPs, +1.5%
  • On-demand audio streams, +1.0% (2.191 billion streams in the country last week)
