Luminate has again released an update on how the Canadian recorded music industry is doing when it comes to sales and streaming.

Year-over-year comparisons:

  • Total album sales, -5.2%
  • CD sales, -8.3%
  • Digital albums, -12.9%
  • Digital tracks, -9.3%
  • Vinyl LPs, +16.8%
  • On-demand audio streams,+16.0%

Comparing last week with the week before:

  • Total album sales, +11.3%
  • CD sales, +22.6%
  • Digital albums, +1.7%
  • Digital tracks, -1.1%
  • Vinyl LPs, +2.6%
  • On-demand audio streams, +2.6% (2,497 billion streams in the country last week)
