Yeah, it’s the holidays, but statistics never rest. Here’s how things shaped up for the second-last week of 2021.

Year-over-year numbers:

Total album sales, -12.4%
CD sales, -7.7%
Digitial albums, -26.8%
Digital tracks, -24.9%
Vinyl LPs, +21.2%
On-demand audio streams, +12.6%

Now comparing last week to the week before:

Total album sales, +17.4% (a nice Christmas bump)
CD sales, +17.4% (ditto)
Digital albums, +5.5%
Digital tracks, +0.5%
Vinyl LPs, +29.1% (lots of record under the tree)
On-demand audio streams, -0.7% (2,106 billion streams in the country last week)
