It was Juno Week in Canada, so there was plenty of promotion of music last week. Let’s see if it factored into these weekly stats from Luminate.

Year-over-year numbers:

Total album sales, -11.2%
CD sales, -5.0%
Digital albums, -21.9%
Digital tracks, -20.4%
Vinyl LPs, +0/7%
On-demand audio streams, +13.3%

Week-over-week numbers:

Total album sales: +0.6%
CD sales, -6.1%
Digital albums, +3.8%
Digital tracks, -5.0%
Vinyl LPs, +9.8%
On-demand audio streams, +1.1% (2,209 billion streams in the country. I think this is a new record.)
