Weekly Canadian music sales and streaming stats

Monday may have been a stat in many provinces across Canada, but Nielsen/MRC came through with its weekly look at music sales and streaming stats for the country.

Here are things as compared to where we were in 2020:

  • Total album sales, -28.0%
  • CD sales, -49.8%
  • Digital albums, -18.4%
  • Digital tracks, -25.2%
  • Vinyl LPs, +23.9%
  • On-demand audio streams, _10.3%

Now week-to-week:

  • Total album sales, +10.9%
  • CD sales, +19.2%
  • Digital albums, +5.3%
  • Digital tracks, -4.5%
  • Vinyl LPs, +10.5%
  • On-demand audio streams, -1.2% (1.797 billion streams in the country last week)
