Weekly survey: Headphones or earbuds?

The method by which you listen to music on the go is a highly personal thing. Headphones have their place and are great for deep bass and sealing out the outside world. Earbuds are lighter, smaller, and often better for listening during physical activity. Chances are you have an arsenal containing both that you break out for your immediate listening need.

But if you had to make a binary choice, which would you go for? Headphones forever or earbuds rule?

    I can’t decide lol.

But what I will add, as I always have my earbuds on me, I’ve started using them instead of earplugs at concerts. They work great, and sometimes the ‘passthrough’ mode can actually make a live show sound clearer to me.

  • I have misshapen or really originally sized ear holes. No earbuds will stay in my ears. And I’ve tried all the different sized rubber doohickeys that go on the ends. I have to really cram them in there and then wait til they start popping out to cram them back in there again.

    Headphones forever!

My choice is high-quality, over-the-ear, wired, open-ended headphones. The earbuds made my ears hurt after using them. Plus, the audio quality made a huge difference.
