Weekly survey: What’s the first band you want to see when we get the all-clear on the pandemic?

The New Year has arrived and the vaccines are rolling out. And if all goes well, live music should return (at least in some form) later this year.

Many artists have already tentatively scheduled gigs or rescheduled postponed shows for the second half of 2021. That includes the following:

  • Foo Fighters
  • Rage Against the Machine
  • Green Day
  • Weezer
  • Fall Out Boy
  • Chili Peppers
  • Pearl Jam
  • Killers
  • Rolling Stones

My question is: Out of all the artists currently active and touring, which would you like to see first? In other words, what band would you like to break your COVID isolation with when it comes to a live in-person concert?

Don’t feel constrained by the above list. The only requirement is that the act is willing and able to tour. Pick from anyone you like.

  • I had tickets to Rage in Buffalo then the Black Crowes in TO the very next day. What a back to backer, but just like everything else it was canceled by 2020. Also had Billy Joel lined up, hopefully he still is playing by the time concerts start back up again. Those are the big shows i had lined up before anything was canceled, but i could really go for another Larry and his Flask show at the Horseshoe to get things rocking again…..who am i kidding…..anything, just give me any live show. I need it.

    • I most look forward to a live music dance party at a pub. A big concert would be nice but not as accessible as the weekly live dance pub.

  • Arcade Fire, Daft Punk, or LCD Soundsystem

  • Pearl Jam! We had tickets to the Toronto show and then a mini vacation in Quebec City to catch that show. Also had tickets to Rammstein in Montreal. Still holding onto all of the tickets.

  • Out of all the shows that haven’t been cancelled yet or have been rescheduled for the Fall or later, I would like my Madness gig in June for Oakland, CA to happen. I have been expecting to get a cancelation notice for that one every day since most of my European or UK bands have been canceled so far.

It’s out of state for me so it’s going to be several days visiting The City, Berkley, and maybe Santa Cruz and for the show. I don’t miss much from California but I totally miss the Bay Area and this would be my first Madness show.

  • Foo Fighters (adios, 3rd row tickets in Hamilton in what was going to be the first show for my kids), Guided By Voices (that was set for Pittsburgh in April) and The Struts. Those are my three “let’s make this happen ASAP” acts.
