Weezer Signs to Play Opening of Mississauga Microsoft Store

‘Tis true.  Microsoft’s new retail location will open at Square One in Mississauga next month and the event will me marked by a concert by Weezer.  The date is Sunday, February 9 and showtime is 2pm.

To drum up hype, fans are being encouraged to begin lining up at 10pm on Friday, February 7.  When the store officially opens at 11am Saturday, the first 2,500 people in line will get a pair of “premier viewing tickets” for the gig.

The show itself will be at the Powerade Centre in Brampton. The MS tickets are “preferred” in some way.

Nice idea, Microsoft, but Apple people will point out that fans of their stuff line up for weeks just for the privilege of buying the newest gadget that they don’t need.  (Insert your own “say it ain’t so” snark in the the comments section.)  (Via Riff You)
