Weird Radio Station Story Number 1: Denver’s Smokin’ 94.1

Everyone knows by now that pot is a legal commodity in Colorado. As bud continues to work its way through the state’s society, a new radio station has emerged: Smokin’ 94.1.

Smokin 94-1

Seriously. This is an actual over-the-air radio station. Its official call letters are KBUD. Again, no foolin‘. Their morning show–the syndicated Bubba the Love Sponge–is promoted as “Wake and bake with Bubba.”

I’ve been listening for a while and it sounds like a fairly normal rock station save for the heavy marijuana content. (Radio Geeks: BDS doesn’t report on the station yet. Maybe management forgot to call BDS.)
