What are most-downloaded music apps these days? Glad you asked.

SensorTower is a company that monitors how apps are doing online. They analyze what’s going in the app stores of Apple and Google, covering apps released for both iOS and Android.

When it comes to music, what app is king? Spotify. It was the most-downloaded music app globally, installed more than 20 million times in just July alone, marking an increase of 35% year over year. Fun fact: India apparently accounts for 25% of downloads.

Here are the top 10 overall downloads across the planet when it comes to music apps.

  1. Spotify

  3. Drum Pad Machine (a Cyprus-based beat-making app)
  4. Shazam
  5. SoundCloud
  6. Gaana (an Indian streaming service)
  7. Smule (a social media singing app)
