What are the most valuable songs in the world? Here’s a breakdown by country

There are many ways to evaluate the worth of a song. An Australian outfit called S-Money decided to approach the question by analyzing Spotify streams in every country where the service is available. They then ranked everything on estimated earnings from these streams.

Some highlights:

  • The most valuable song in the world is Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You, with Spotify earnings of $13,347,665.
  • North America’s most valuable song is Rockstar by Post Malone, which earned $10,409,424 – This is also the most-streamed song in the US.
  • Australia is home to the 3rd most valuable song: Dance Monkey by Tones and I, worth $10,298,960.
  • Drake tops the list in Canada. God’s Plan is the fourth highest-grossing song in the study, bagging the rapper over $8.3m.
