What is Spotify’s “Car Thing? This.
After teasing the hardware product for months, Spotify’s Car Thing (imagine the marketing meetings that resulted in that name) is now on sale in the US for US$89.99. It brings Spotify listening to your car as long was you have (a) a Premium subscription plan and (b) a mobile photo with a data plan.
Last year my mother in law wanted to get rid of her 2008 Honda Accord and I needed a car. No blue tooth, but it has an AUX jack and 2 power plugs. I should also mention it has a CD player, which I use!
I got an email last November to buy the Car Thing and I jumped on it! Picked up a $30 blue tooth converter for the aux jack and for just over $100 I updated an old car stereo.
The display is just big enough, it’s easy to use, I put a couple of my playlists and podcasts on the pre-set buttons and couldn’t be happier with it.
Highly recommend for an older car radio.
