Tech

What shall we make this new AI and music project?

Used as a tool, AI can be of great use when it comes to music. If you’ve seen the new version of The Beatles Anthology, you’ve seen proper use of AI in action. Using technology pioneered by filmmaker Peter Jackson, the audio in the nine-part documentary has been brought up to 21st-century standards in astonishing ways. It’s fantastic.

Then we have something like this. The Band Black features Joseph Alexander, the only living member of The Bar-Kays, Otis Redding’s backup band. Using the slogan “Artistry Leads, AI Enhances, Humans Perform,” The goal is to “revive the R&B band tradition.” Sounds are created through “AI-assisted arrangements” when the group plays live.

I quote: : “AI helps create songs with fresh inspiration and complex arrangements that challenge musicians. Every song refined by human touch.” Auditions will be held in the spring for musicians who will play live. How this will manifest itself will be documented on YouTube and TikTok.

What will The Band Black sound like? How will they appear to audiences? Stay tuned.
