What was the weird music Apollo 10 heard on the far side of the moon?
Even if you’re a hardcore student of the Apollo program, you may not have heard this story about how Apollo 10 astronauts Thomas Stafford, John Young, and Eugene Cernan heard something weird as Apollo 10 looped around the far side of the moon. These sounds–music?–was kept secret for more than 50 years.

- Young: Did you hear that whistling sound, too?
- Cernan: Yeah. Sounds like – you know, outer-space-type music.
- Young: I wonder what it is.
