What’s going on with the Diddy trial? Let’s get caught up.

The trial featuring Sean “Diddy” Combs began last Monday with jury selection, something that has turned into an ordeal. But after a week of vetting people, court is back in session, and we should hear about the final jury after everyone goes through the final 43 candidates. Twelve jurors and six alternates will be seated.

Once jury selection has been completed, the trial will move to opening statements. Three witnesses are expected to be called by the prosecution this week–maybe even today.

The prosecution will have to prove that Diddy engaged in sexual assault, sex trafficking, arson, prostitution, racketeering, kidnapping, and weapons offenses. Diddy refused a plea deal. The defense will say “What? Diddy was a swinger and participated in that lifestyle. And the violence against Cassie? That’s because she was violent towards him, too.”

Meanwhile, a key witness against Diddy has gone AWOL.

For more context, go here. Stay tuned. The trial, which is expected to last up to another nine weeks, should be wild.
