What’s new in the world of Diddy today?

As Diddy stews in a Brooklyn jail, more and more news about what he was up to over the last 25 years is leaking out. It’s pretty much all bad. Very bad.

For some reason, streams of Diddy songs are way up

Since his arrest last week, Diddy songs have been streamed almost 20% more. He still has 9.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify. So what’s going to happen to Diddy’s music in the long run? That’s an interesting thought experiment.

People are asking if this is music’s #MeToo moment.

Yeah, you think? Such a reckoning is long overdue. Lots of people are very, very nervous. This is going to be a bigger deal than R Kelly and will approach Harvey Weinstein levels–at least.

One of the Kardashians said something about Justin Bieber

Something about him attending one of Diddy’s “naked parties.” It’s an old clip that has resurfaced. A lot of that is happening, innit? Meanwhile, Bieber doesn’t want to talk about anything.

Aston Kucher had something to say, too, in an old clip.

And it hasn’t aged well. Nor did this JLo pic.

What were those parties like?

Wild. Debauched. Weird. You can read about them here. This dancer has more detail, too. So does Khloe Kardashian. Now, not everyone who went to one of these parties engaged in the dark stuff, but you have to think that they knew something was going on.

What’s next?

Prosecutors will prepare for trial (probably in about six months) when they’ll lay out their case. There’s also the matter of his still-unnamed co-conspirators and employees who were involved. We’re awaiting more indictments.
