What’s the state of streaming on the global stage? There’s a new report.

Music industry observer/analyst/news company Music Ally keeps tabs on what’s going on in the world of streaming. They’ve just released their 2026 report. Here are some highlights.

  • According to Paris-based streamer Deezer, the number of fully-AI generated tracks being uploaded to its platform is at least 60,000 per day. We are drowning in slop.
  • 85% of these uploads are considered fraudulent, ripping of real human artists.
  • At the time the report was released AI “artists” at 1.9 million monthly listeners.
  • Fortunately, ZERO of these tracks are among the top 7,000 artists globally.
  • About 33% of Millennial listeners have little to no problem with listening to AI-generated tracks. The rate for Boomers is 21% while Gen Z is at 22%.

The report, which goes much, much deeper, is available for free here,
