Where are we at this week with vinyl and CD sales? (29 May 2025)

Vinyl continues to outsell CDs in Canada by a comfortable margin. Here’s the lastest from Luminate.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 26,743 (up 0.1% from last week. That works out to just 15 units difference)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 29,309 (down 1.5% from last week)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 582,604 (down 8.2% from this same week last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 673,325 (up 14.2% from this point in 2024)

Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,863,051,811 (down 3.5% from a week earlier)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 56,408,423,280 (up 5.3% from this time last year)
