Which music fans are the happiest? The most opinionated? There’s been a new study.

SeatPick, a UK ticket reseller, commissioned a study that sought to find the happiest music fans. By analyzing eight million Reddit posts and comments, they came up with the following.

R&B fans are the happiest and tend to leave positive comments on posts more than any other group. Reggae fans are second followed by classical, jazz, and EDM. Metal is at the bottom.
This is because metal fans are the “most opinionated,” which is another way of saying they leave a lot of negative or snarky comments. They’re at the top of the list followed by rock, punk, pop, and hip-hop.
The analysis says that hip-hop fans are the most passionate, followed by R&B, reggae, classical, and opera.
